POLITICIAN'S NOMINATED BY SIKHS FOR "PACK OF CARDS"

Last week it was suggested that the Sikh Federation (UK) produce a "pack of cards" prior to the Sikh Lobby Day on 11 November indicating the 52 MPs that have not supported any of the motions in the UK Parliament on 1984 and have large numbers of Sikh constituents.

The following 25 nominations for the "pack of cards" have been received in the first week. It is not surprising that most are no Conservative MPs and most are Labour. The majority have large numbers of Sikh constituents with the odd exception, such as, Rt. Hon. Menzies Campbell QC (Liberal Democrat) who has been suggested for his prominence and an expectation that he should be providing his support for EDMs 662, 663 or 664.

The MPs are listed in terms of vulnerability - size of majority. It is hoped that Sikhs living in the constituencies shown will exert pressure on their MP to ensure they do not feature in the final pack of cards that will be published prior to the Sikh Lobby Day on 11 November.
