Legal action by Sikhs against ONS to be launched this week and to be led by Sikh Channel & Sikh Federation (UK)
8 March 2010 - The Sikh community is expected by the end of this week to have launched legal action against the Office for National Statistics (ONS) regarding the 2011 Census.
London, Feb. 28: British Sikhs are considering taking legal action against the UK statistics authority over the 2011 census form. The Sikh organisations in the UK are lobbying to get the Sikhs recognised in the census as an ethnic category.
Can the office for National Statistics be trusted with the 2011 Census?
The Sikh Federation (UK) will be releasing a report on Monday 1 February 2010 following research it commissioned on the selection of new ethnic groups for the Census 2011.
